Zest Medical is currently partnered with a global leading Biotech company specialising in Rare & Serious Diseases that is looking to recruit a Head of Market Access & Public Affairs Iberia to be based in either Spain or Portugal.

The position will lead market access and public affairs activities in Iberia covering the whole product portfolio. You will manage a team of 3 and will report directly into the General Manager with a broad range of responsibilities and lots of autonomy. This is a senior position and will suit an experienced and entrepreneurial market access professional with deep knowledge of the region and an appetite for working in a fast paced biotech environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health policy, health economics, life sciences or healthcare discipline; MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Market Access Manager or Regional Market Access position in Pharmaceutical Companies dealing with health and regulatory stakeholders at both national and regional level
  • Experience in sales or marketing combined with at least 3 years’ experience in health economics and/or Market Access at National or European level
  • Experience in developing price and reimbursement dossiers
  • Experience in negotiations with health authorities and hospital management
  • Broad and deep knowledge of market access with the ability to work both strategically and operationally
  • Experience in rare diseases or a relevant therapy area is preferred
  • Ability to work in English - both written and verbal communication
  • The ability to work in Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • Experience managing a team is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Market Access and Public Affairs Team In Iberia
  • Define the Market Access Strategy and implement tactics for access and retention of all products in Spain & Portugal by demonstrating the therapeutic, economic and societal value using a deep knowledge of the pricing and economic environment
  • Obtain optimal pricing and reimbursement for all products
  • Elaborate Market Access Plans for new product launches as well as for the existing portfolio in Spain & Portugal aligned with the Company Strategy. Ensure the implementation of these plans to the Spanish/Portuguese market in full respect of Health Policies, national laws, rules and guidelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with health economic opinion leaders, reimbursement agencies, and healthcare groups
  • Manage and Coordinate Regional Market Access activities and ensure the alignment with the Company Strategy.
  • Manage and Coordinate Tenders and Public Contracts
  • Communicate information on product efficacy to shape opinion regarding the value of company products
  • Monitor the external environment, customers and competitors to identify opportunities for protecting and improving value capture
  • Evaluates pricing and market access risks
  • Optimise payer value proposition and pricing policy
